We are a premier tertiary education provider committed to afford quality education through our network of institutions in the Asia-Pacific region to develop industry-relevant skilled professionals. Our primary goal is the transfer of knowledge and technical know-how. We strive to provide a well-balanced practical education that will make the learning process an enriching life experience, contributing to the student’s personal growth.
Since our founding in 1990, we have grown our portfolio from one college in Singapore to three universities and 26 colleges across 10 countries. Our colleges offer a comprehensive program range in Design, Business, Science and Technology and students are provided with an education pathway from the Diploma and Degree through to the Masters level.
Raffles Education Corporation’s business can be categorized into three models:
Private Education
Our private education schools are our premium product. Students enrolled in our private education schools are afforded a robust quality program that is taught in English and by an international faculty. We have a private education portfolio of 25 colleges of higher education across Asia-Pacific with total student population exceeding 11,600.
National Education
We have a portfolio of one University and three Vocational and Technical colleges under the National Education system in China. This main-stream product offers students a sound education that is taught in Mandarin by quality local faculty. We have over 19,400 students studying in our National Education institutions.
University City
Our foray into the University City business was marked by the acquisition of Oriental University City (“OUC”) for a total consideration of RMB 2 billion in 2007. OUC is located in Langfang Development Zone in Langfang City, Hebei, China, approximately 50km away from Beijing. The campus covers a land area of 3.31 million sq meters and houses 14 leading universities and colleges with a population of over 36,000 students. Notable education institutions include Beijing Union University, Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Oriental Institute, and Beijing City College.
We have ownership of the land and buildings and currently provide supporting education services to the schools and students located on the campus. In the near term, we will expand OUC’s business model to include higher education and auxillary services. It is our goal to establish OUC as a tertiary vocational and technical education campus to meet the strong demand in China for highly skilled employees with professional qualifications.
